To produce exceptional quality sound, a wide array of audio improvement circuitry and exclusive designs have been incorporated in the KD-NX5000. Low distortion and low noise are realised by adopting parts exclusively for audio circuits such as film capacitor, operation amp, and electronic volume IC.
Also incorporated is a low impedance capacitor that can fully eliminate noise generated in the power circuit.
Another means of reducing noise is optimised circuit board layout; the audio circuit, power circuit, digital circuits such as for navigation, and DiAS Digital Tuner are all positioned separately on the board. Moreover, symmetrically located audio Lch and Rch circuits and an audio-exclusive ground circuit also contribute to high quality sound.

The KD-NX5000 is compatible with multiple formats, including MP3/WMA/WAV and DivX®/JPEG/MPEG1,2. This system is a DivX® Ultra Certified product, and can play PC-created DivX® video files from a DVD/CD. The powerful compression of DivX® can fit 10 movies onto 1 DVD, or 1 movie onto 1 CD, without sacrificing picture quality.
