Verdict: CD and MP3 support is par for the course, but with all the digital stations on offer you may not need your CDs. Styling isn't great but sound quality is excellent.

JVC KD-AVX1 System: Fits into a standard car stereo slot but has an amazing 3in full-colour TFT monitor. Plays television and DVDs as well as digital files from DVDs burned at home.
Verdict: The most versatile and impressive head unit you can get for your money. Pair up with decent speakers to give incredible depth and detail.
